Facebook Insights, a package for Ads and Pages showing statistics which includes activity, fan demographics, ad performance and trends. This information is very important to users who are running Ads and Pages since after a few months of use you will be able to determine the exact areas you need to target and improve. You can generally use the data to adjust the content of your Page and optimize it for increased engagement with your customers and fans.

As marketing is moving away from traditional methods, and taking on the web 2.0 approaches, businesses need to measure the performance of these methods! Facebook is the leading social media platform, its very important to have a full featured statistics package that will allow companies to adapt and improve their presence on Facebook for business and professional purposes.

Facebook Insights is a major reason of using fan pages instead of Groups which do not support this functionality! However I have found Facebook Insights to be less then useful for me or my clients. I need to see more information and customize the reports shown. You can see how many people visited your fan page or interacted with it however you cannot see how many times each video or image or post was views or read by your visitors.

Facebook Insights show a lot less info of what you can get from a usual Google analytics account.

At least they should give you a way to add Google analytics code in Facebook fan pages so you can get some real statistics going.

Its far more important to know how each element in a fan Page perform and not just a general idea! Its important to know How visitors found your fan page! from invites? from google searches? with what keywords? from Facebook Ads?

Facebook Insights currently Sucks big time!
